DeepDig
A free, livestreamed 2D multiplayer idle mining game controlled by YouTube chat.
What it is: DeepDig is a browser game tied to a live YouTube stream. You sign in with
your Google account, then type commands like !pickaxe and !sell in the
stream's live chat to dig blocks, collect resources into your personal inventory, buy better pickaxes,
and climb the leaderboards. This website is where you sign in and manage your account, shop, and stats.
Why DeepDig asks for YouTube access: DeepDig requests read-only access to your YouTube
account (the youtube.readonly scope) for one purpose: a single request at sign-in that
reads your own channel's ID and name. A live-chat message identifies its author only by channel ID, so
that ID is the only value linking a command you type in the stream's chat to your signed-in account —
it is what lets your !pickaxe and !sell commands credit your own progress.
DeepDig never posts, modifies, deletes, or shares your YouTube data, and reads no other part of your
account. The stream's live chat itself is read from the public stream, without access to your account.
